Could ya please help a beginner out? PLEASE?!

Hey all, I posted this in the 200sx forum, but was told it would be better answered here, what with my GA16DE B14 engine and all. I have a '96 Nissan 200SX SE

I'm new to these forums as well as car mods. I just recently got hooked in to this (another thing to waste money on, oh boy!) and would like some pointers. I was planning on getting some Hotshot headers and a catback exhaust as my first goal, would this be good? I first want to up the horsepower before getting into body modifications, so what would you suggest? If you guys gave me some links to places that helped you out or gave me some advice, it would be much appreciated!
Oh, and what's a good site to buy parts from? This stuff is expensive...
