Angry Ahhh!!!!!! Accident Need Opinions...

Just today about an hour ago I was driving and the car infront of me slams breaks, I slam my breaks but of course I slide into his SUV. So my carbon fiber hood, raditor, headlight, pass side fender all completly destroyed.

Anyways When I tried shifting to gear it seemed really tight... Does this mean my transmission is messed up too or something wrong with it? If anyone can answer this question please get back to me...

Thanks,

Sean

I bet that a pipe or something is bumping against your shift cables. See if any of those radiator tubes or intercooler pipes are rubbing against your tranny at an place if so bend them back. Sorry about the accident dude. I'm still recovering from mine, it just takes time but it'll get sorted out.

Re: Ahhh!!!!!! Accident Need Opinions...

Thank you, im still having trouble taking all of this in... I seemed to drive fine and I think it is the radiator pipes pushing against it... But I mean the saftey bar didnt break so I dont think any real damage is done under the hood aside from the radiator being smashed along with its pipes.

Re: Ahhh!!!!!! Accident Need Opinions...

make sure nothing is obstructing the slave cylinder, causing the little piston/bar on the slave cylinder to not be able to move very well. Our clutch is hydraulic so there is no linkage to be rubbing on anything.

i think they were talking about the actual shifter cables themselves.

does the clutch feel any different or is just harder to get into gear?

Re: Ahhh!!!!!! Accident Need Opinions...

I actually didnt notice any difference in pushing the clutch up and down however the car is at a shop. Tuesday I will get the offical estimate... If there is more damage than the blue book value of a 1996 mitsubishi eclipse (www.cardomain.com/id/trueeclipse) gs with 105k on it. Then I think they may call it a total and give me the value of the car in cash... I completly re did the interior and exterior but anyways basically my radiator was smashed into the pass side of my car as well as my fender and head light... The frame that holds the radiator up is messed up...

You said it was their fault right? Because if so then just fix it because the insurance company most likely will not give you anywhere close to the money that you have invested into your car. When I was hit it busted my rack and pinion and it had to be towed off. I felt the same anxiety you had wondering if things would ever be the same and etc. For about 3 weeks it really sucked, to be honest. I had to fight the insurance company because the lady that hit me said it was my fault even though she hit me. In the end I got about $3500. I suggest buying a new bumper, radiator, and straightening out anything bent. Unless you are ready for a new project car or something.

Re: Ahhh!!!!!! Accident Need Opinions...

Lets say it is damaged and they call it a total (i rlly, rlly hope they dont) I wanna do another project car but I dont want to do an eclipse because if I did, it would turn out the exact same lol. How are the 3000GT models anyone have any trouble with them?
