recharging A/C..
I've got a 95 cutlass supreme 3.1 and the A/C has stopped blowing cold air (it is cool but not cold) and I was wondering if there is a good DIY recharging kit available and if so is it a fairly easy DIY project?
Thanks |

Re: recharging A/C..
Not an easy project, unless it's just simply refilling the system. However it seems like A/C work is never easy. If you don't have a set of A/C gauges I wouldn't even attempt to service it yourself. You have no idea what the system is doing without gauges. Unless your willing to spend the money on the proper tools and educate yourself on Auto A/C, I would leave it to a professional. -Chris

Re: recharging A/C..
You can purchase an inexpensive kit at most autoparts stores to recharge the system. Some of the kits come with guages to allow you to see what the pressure is in the system before adding freon. You may also want to invest in a leak detection kit as it sounds like you may have a leak somewhere. Although they do leak down gradually as time goes by.

Re: recharging A/C..
Thanks, GTP. Hopefully the kit will come with some decent instructions, I have recharged an A/C system or 2, but it has been 20+ years.
