Hi, I am trying to find out if a trans from a 86 Mercedes 420 SEL
will fit in my 81 300 SD. The rebuild kit has the same part number,
but is the case the same ? Please help

I would think that the 420SEL would have much shorter gear ratios than the diesel, which would kill the thought of taking the 300 on the freeway.
