See I don't get this Bush and even sometimes republican's don't like black people stigma. Where did this come from? Bush has appointed more black members than any president in history. You know what's funny I know a black guy who lives next door to my friends brother-in-law. He is the most racist person against his own skin color I have ever met. After talking to him for a while he said if you think I'm racist against blacks, you should meet my dad. Now I find it funny, that a man who lived through the time of seperate bathrooms, drinking fountains, etc, would be racist against his own race. He's obviously noticed something that no other race can if he feels this way.

He more or less put it this way. Democrats want everything handed to them without working for it. Republicans work their asses off to at least feed their family. Look at the very poor, not black POOR (white, hispanic, black, asian, whatever). How many dropped out of school, started selling drugs, joined gangs, or whatever and just receive their welfare checks and choose to live on them? Look at how many abused their Katrina Debit cards for crying out loud. For $2000 I could have found a really cheap apartment to live in which probably would give the first month or two rent for free. Then found a job to pay the bills.

You can't possibly believe that can you? I don't know a single Republican that has any trouble feeding their family, and it's not because they work any harder than their counterpart Democrat. I don't affiliate myself with either party, but that statement is way off base. A small percentage of Democrates want handouts, but most are very hard working, in fact, I guarantee the vast majority of Democrates work harder than most Republicans.

To 3.4imp, I'd agree with some of what you have to say if you didn't state it like such an idiot. Do you actually think anyone with an opposing view would take what you are saying seriously? Your just inciting anger, not logical discourse, you weaken your own position.

Haha, yeah, I've met a few of those types. "I hate my gums cause they black!"

My girlfriend thinks I'm a racist, apparently. She's grown up in a white bred town all of her life, and has never really known any minorities other than a handful of natives. I used to live in a largely black neighbourhood in Seattle, and I saw a lot there that made me think differently about a great deal of black people. It wouldn't shock me in the least for a hard working intelligent black man to feel as ashamed of that as I did when I would deliver pizzas to trailer parks and low rent apartments on welfare cheque day, knowing that these people were spending tax dollars that myself and others had worked our asses off for on drugs and alcohol and luxuries. That's a pretty deep sense of shame.

Again, you're bringing up democrats when they have no place in this discussion. Just because he's talking about republicans doesn't mean he's a democrat. I can criticize republicans, and I do, but I'm no democrat.

Also, where the hell do you get off saying something like that? I know quite a few democrats who work their ASSES off day in day out, a lot of them doing the kind of work that would make your lip curl. Get off your high horse, and stop making generalizations. Not all republicans are hard working, a great deal of them got a free ride their entire lives, like Dubya. Oh wait, I forgot! He spent all those years slaving awa6 as a janitor at the NYSE while gaining market savvy to earn his fortune through brilliant capitalism.

Probably quite a few of them. Poverty has a terrible effect on the psyche, I know because I've been poor all my life. I never got into gangs, started selling drugs etc, but then again I had the priviledge of growing up in a very good neighbourhood with good parents. Never been on welfare, and I work my ass off at two jobs 5 days a week, and one of them is hard physical labour doing construction work. For some however, it's really hard to pull themselves out of it for a multitude of reasons. Depression is a large factor in many cases, and it's very easy for an addiction prone person to turn to drugs or alcohol, and it's a downward spiral from there, ending with a person who is of no use to society.

Never underestimate the stupidity of human nature. Also don't forget that those people have just been through a VERY traumatic even, and many have been fundamentally disconnected from reality since, hell many were fundamentally disconnected from reality before hand.
