Re: what projects do you have planned for your maxima ?

I'm planning on getting rid of mine and getting an M3

EDIT: I was originally planning on going for some 19's with an adjustable suspension, full body kit, exhaust, headers, and possibly S/C down the road. But FWD just ain't gonna do it...

Well, since as long as I could remember I wanted a Stingray, and the chance presented itself so I couldn't pass it up. The thing is a monster in a straight line but handles like hell...

Yeah, I'm looking for a used E46 6 speed. Hard to come by here in MN though...Are you gonna get a new G, the 298 hp version?

Re: what projects do you have planned for your maxima ?

^i'd like to, but probably not. 280's gonna have to cut it, which is cool with me becuase the 280 hp versions make 276 ft-lbs of tq where the 298 hp version only makes 260 tq. i guess it's a fair trade off, if i want to feel something with a lot of top end i'll take out the bike. it also depends on a few things though too. i need to see what i can get for my car and it'll depend on what the prices on the 05's are once the winter's over. If they offer some good pricing or financing incentives to make room for the 06's i'd pony up a little extra $ for an 05.

i'd give my left nut for an E46 but i can't afford it. i'm looking in the $22K-$26K range. the 00-02's M's are still in the $32K+ range, a little rich for my tastes. good luck though, hope it all works out for ya.

Re: what projects do you have planned for your maxima ?

How many miles do you have on your '02 right now? The dealer offered me 15k on trade in for my '03, which is pretty good I think, and that's with aboput 40,000 on the odo.

Re: what projects do you have planned for your maxima ?

if the dealer offered me 15K i'd take it but i'm at about 73,000 miles so they'd probably offer me like 12K-13K. i think i'll try to steer clear of trading my car into a dealership though. i took a beatin' trading in my last maxima so i'll try to pass this one off on someone privately as is for around 15-16K. i probably won't get that much but i figure there has to be someone looking for a 6 speed 3.5 maxima and from looking around the local lots it seems like the 6 speeds are pretty hard to come by.

I just got my Cattman Y-pipe, Cat, and exhaust installed about two weeks ago. I am looking at a berk intake w/ the apexi filter in about a month. New grounding system and possibly Tokico Illumina Adjustables. The Cattman headers are about a year away though. I need to keep everything street legal and emission friendly.

Re: what projects do you have planned for your maxima ?

in an ideal world i would be able to keep the max and get the G35. i know that in a few years when it's almost impossible to find a loaded 6 speed 5.5 gen maxima, i'm gonna be kicking myself in the ass for letting it go, kinda like my friend and his type II Acura Legend.

Re: what projects do you have planned for your maxima ?

Yeah I really have a soft spot for my Max, gonna be hard to let it go. Sometimes, at just the right angle the Max looks better than pretty much any car on the road, and it always brings a smile to my face.
