Re: lightning 6x9 speakers by rockford fosgate

if you tried to hook any aftermarket speakers to a factory head unit, they probably wouldnt sound very good at all. Most factory speakers have impedence of 6 to 10 ohms, and aftermarked use 4. And as lightening audio for a brand? I think I'd save my money and not buy any cheap crap from wall-mart. As high end manufacturers make cheaper models to sell to places like this. Kinda like pioneer and premier. The cheap pioneer stuff is sold at wall-mart. If I were you and your factory speakers were bad, I'd look at replacing them with factories unless you plan on getting an aftermarket head unit.

Re: lightning 6x9 speakers by rockford fosgate

If you ever put a sony next to something like a cdt or any other higher end speaker mb quart hell my infinitys sunded awsome compared to my old kenwoods you woud notice a that the better speaker has much better quality and if able to some nice midbass. One thing is that most people just want something to listen to music on while others want something that would make most of the other stuff sound like crap. One thing that i would do is if you get the speakers which by the way there are not a bad deal for 40 you should get a decent amp loo at profile, hifonics, mtx, im partial to profile awsome prices for there power and i have never managed to kill one. The amp will make the diffeence between night and day, the HU power supply will make your speakers distort and start clipping if turned up to loud, while the amp will give it the power it needs and wil also enable you to tune the frequency range, bass boost and power level. Im pretty sure your not after something insane just something to make the stock setup sound better granted there is stuff out there that is 10 times better. If your not looking for something great they should work fne but otherwise some people on here can make some suggestions.

Don't ever look at cars as just imports or domestics. Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota.

I think that's good enough. Some people are perfectly happy without top of the line stereos. No need for all these different suggestions about great SQ.

For once ick il actually agree with you. Car audio is about personal preference and suggestions can help big time in the long run but not everyone is lookin for the best just something that suits them. Just to say that i am against sony, pioneer(dont bitch i just dont like them), audiobahn, anything from a flea market, best buy or circuit city except HU's and amps but not everyone likes the same thing.

I totally agree with the you ,also not everyone is the same you aqre right agian . I dont want to sink alot of dollars like i would have when i was younger .I have had rockford , sony kenwood ,power acoustic, maybe a few more.I am not looking for the best stuff thats a fact . Just a little upgrade for my blazer . The speakers that are in are fine but just want tad bit more base in the rear that is in the $50 dollar range, dont take up all my space. So i figured that 6x9 was my best choice because i have sony 6.50 in the door ,and in the dash i have bose 3.25 surround sound mids they are very impressive little speakers.
Maybe it will all work out
