Re: front end making noise

You're probably looking at ur intermediate Steering Shaft...the factory lube is lacking, making a clunking noise, like a loose component...it's on recall, ur dealer should cover it.

Re: Re: Re: front end making noise

On my 00 Impala, I had the ISS replaced under warranty after about a year. Now, I think it is doing it again - similar simptoms.

How much did replacing it set you back, simonswu?

Sorry. My 01 (bought used a year ago) was under warranty with Can$100 deductable, so I just paid $100. That's also paid for checking on another problem (I forgot what... too many problems).

My one just made some clicking noise when turning. Now I still feel it's the worst steering among all the cars I have had.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: front end making noise

Just wondering if this condition with this ISS can be considered "Dangerous" making the car unsafe to drive?

I ask because, quite honestly, I am not sure if I am going to have the $$ to fix it right away. I have another car to drive, but with gas prices so high, I have been driving my Impala more since it gets very good mileage.

Thanks...
