Angry aftermarket warrentys...BAD Experence

well guys its me again let me tell you about my cheap ass day.....wlll in actual it started yesterday (another thread) anyway I called the warrenty guy and it seemd like he was fighting the warrenty company but the warrenty company was fighting back untill the dealer I sent the truck to (outside where I bought it from close to my house) told me that the warrenty company will not buy gm factory parts and instead will use cheap aftermarket bull shit by the way the codes for the ses light on my truck when I took in was P1416,PO171,PO174, basic--- no air output from engine check valve and low fuel pressure bleeding down I can still drive it howlong???? I woke up at 8:30 am hoping to get something fixed and the only thing I got fixed was the factory recall item ------Thank GM the fuel module from gm costs 421.29 and what they want to pay is 249.99 and that included my dedutable 100$ also when I bought the truck the finance guy said the warrenty was good for any chevy dealer.... dead wrong turns out that because the warrenty company wants to go cheap on me and get aftermarket the boys at chevy have to go to autozone and get it but of corse no one wants to work for free so they charge the warrenty company a mark up price and they wont even pay that!!!!!! and it took me all day to try and fix that but no luck so now I have another plan hope it works (Im luck to live in california ) in the contract it says that if you live in california or florida you can get your money back within 30 days!!!! I have 6 left!!! SO here I leave it to you guys A) I fight to get my truck fixed with cheap after market pull shit and after that I have no idea if that part is under warrenty or B) fight to just get my money back use it to fix the truck and ride with zero protection..... keep in mind the truck has about 72k miles and I have owned it for 3 weeks and so far runs great one thing is for sure my experence with this warrenty company which is called Western General gave me a stressfull day with zero proplems fixed If I ever want a warrenty on a used automobile again it has to be a factory warrenty thats what I learned from this whole experence to hell with outside warrenty companys!!!!! .......... So what do you say A or B????????????

Get your money back on the warranty. How much did you pay for it?

almost 2k(1,895.00 to be exact) that will cover the cost of the fuel module and check valve

Thumbs up

When you go into negotiate for return of the warranty, wear a suit, don't take no for an answer, and if the dealer acts like he knows anything about contracts, don't worry--he doesn't. Most stuff like this is just a pissing contest, and they try to use contractual terms that they don't really understand. Before I went to law school I thought it was legal knowledge that got the job done, when in situations like this, its really more just posturing and being tenacious.

For one i think you got ripped off with your warranty, I got a 6yr-60k warranty for about the same you paid for yours. Mine also paid the 800 dollars it cost to replace my drive shaft. One note on that, i bought my warranty with a chevy dealer in Ohio, i had my driveshaft, u-joints, and yoke replaced at a chevy dealer in Virginia. the company paid for new gm parts that had to be ordered. Now there was a little confusion at first but nothing 20 mins on the phone couldnt take care of. If i were you i would get my money back for the shitty warranty.

Re: aftermarket warrentys...BAD Experence

here is a Little update I plan on using the factory parts but in order to that I have to pay the difference on the parts alone which is about 200$ I think thats the best route because I stay away from aftermarket and baisicly my warrenty turned into a discount for factory parts at least 40% perecent off if I chose to go factory and I also get the factory warrenty on the part the main problem with this plan is the aftermarket support on parts how small or big is it???? in my book the smaller the better and at that point the warrenty company willl be forced to use factory parts

Get your money back from the dealer and get the factory GM extended warranty if you still can. I take it you got it from a GM dealer, why wouldn't they sell you the GM warranty in the first place.

I bought an extended warrenty when I bought my '02 and then cancelled it a few months later. I had absolutely no problem cancelling it, but I didn't get the money back. They sent a check straight to my finance company and they took the amount off of my principal. Just thought I'd give you a head's up that you may not see the money if you cancel it. Kind of sucked because I was planning on using the money for the mods that I'm doing now......
