99' Anti -theft Security Light Question
Hello Everyone,
On the 1999 Suburban when you lock the doors is the security light on the instrument panel suppose to blink or just the red light next to the radio knob. Thanks Will Work For Food Last edited by bigmar54; 09-30-2005 at 06:26 PM. |

Re: Anti -theft Security Light,Instrument Panel
The secuity light in the instrument panel is for the passive security system. It disables the fuel pump if the sensor in the steering column is not enabled with the key.I don't know all the technical mumbo jumbo on its workings, but that security light is for that system.
The red blinking light by the radio control is a indicator that the radio theft detterent system is activated. If the radio is stolen out of the vehicle with this enabled, the radio will then not function when reconnected.I assume that you do not have an owners manual? It is all explained in the manual.I hope this helps you. chuck's |

The security light does not blink after locking the doors. The manual should explain it.The radio red light does blink once the ignition has been turned off.
