Automatic Shifter Plate?

Hey guys
I've searched for about a half hour now and can't find anything on this so...
How the hell do you remove the shifter plate on an automatic? ('95 v6) I tried everything I could get to, but it doesn't look like I can get it out without removing the shift lever, but then again, it doesn't look like I can remove the shift lever without removing the center console (with shifter plate)!!
WTF???
Thanks.

Re: Automatic Shifter Plate?

what do you mean by shifter plate???

To remove the center console...

1) turn key but dont start car, put the shifter into 1
2) pull out the staple-liek pin fron the back of the shifter
3) pull upwards and shift knob comes off, put it in N
4) pull e-brake up as high as possible
5) on mine I had: 2 bolts up front below the radio and HVAC area (one on each side), then pop the center cover and 2 bolts under the change rack, another coupel in the bottom of the console

After that the whoel thing just lifts out... but... you may be asking something completely different lol
