boost gauge question

Hey guys, a guy at a local speed shop just installed my autometer phantom 30/30 boost/vac gauge and I just have a little question. At WOT, boost seems to spike at around 14-15 psi, then slowly comes down to like 12-13. Now, I have a Dejon intake pipe, and it doesn't have the ports on it like the stock one does for the hose that connect to the BCS. So, that hose is just hanging around. Now, here are the questions:

First, is the 15 psi normal on the car when I thought stock was ~10psi with only mods consisting of intake, bov, and uicp?

Second, is the hanging hose causing this? Do I need to cap it off somehow, and if so, how?

Lol, and if you are wondering why I didn't install it, it's because I don't trust myself with the electrical hookup that needed to be done. The shop owner is pretty well known around here, so I trust he did a good job. He took second place at nopi down here in sportman class in his evo. I have a pic of it on my site.

Thanks guys.

Re: boost gauge question

Do you have a MBC? If you do the BCS is worthless. When I was completely stock, the first thing I did was install an boost gauge. I was reading about 14psi on the gauge, also an autometer.

Sounds normal.

Nope, no mbc or ebc yet. Do you think I should still cap off the hose though?

Re: boost gauge question

Don't cap off the hose that goes to the intake unless you want to run maximum boost. Be sure to cap off the nipple it went to on the intake. Ah, nevermind, you're intake doesnt have it. Leave the hose alone, it's correct the way it is. Sounds normal to me too. 2g stock boost was advertised as 14 psi. 10 psi sounds low. Even 1Gs were 11 psi.
