Re: Best Exhaust and Headers?

Best bang for buck LS1 headers are Pacesetters.
www.byunspeed.com
His shipping is included in the price you see.

Best of the headers for the LS1....Kooks and QTP.

Re: Best Exhaust and Headers?

Go long tubes, don't cheap out on some shorty headers. You could get an electric cutout or choose a catback according to your style. The SLP ones seem loud and abnoxious to me, but are one of the most free flowing. I'm pretty sure you could get an x or h pipe kit from summitracing and put 2 bullet mufflers on it for cheaper than most catback systems and it would perform the best.

Re: Best Exhaust and Headers?

SLP vs. Kooks.....
I had SLP headers, they are the ones on top. My new Kooks headers are on the bottom here.
Keep in mind, the SLP's are used.

You tell which one flows better

SLP called those headers? BTW, Luos how much did you bleed putting headers on your car? I did a set on a 2000 ss, used 1/2 box of bandaids....

Re: Best Exhaust and Headers?

I didn't do the headers myself.
I was told if I could get them done for $300, it was worth it.
They came out easy enough though.

Why do you seem to hate Flowmasters so much Mr. Luos?

I have flowmasters on my 98' bird and I like em...

I've heard good and bad about flowmaster, good if you are running them on a truck when you want torque, and bad when you want high flow. I think alot has to do with the application, and if you ever look at their guide it completely sucks. When I looked for my grand am, it told me the 2 mufflers were the same size, and when I stuffed my fat ass under the car to look at them they are obviously very different, the body of one is 10 inches long the other is 18 inches long.

I prefer good flowing exhaust set-ups.
They sound okay in my opinion. Nothing special.
