Question reset airbag light

Anyone can help me reset my airbag light on my 2000 VW Passat. Do I need a pin/skc and work shop code? I just bought this car from private, and he cannot find me the key tag for the code. Where else can I obtain the code from?

Thanks in advance !!!!

try disconnecting + term of battery for a 1/2 hr,then turn on ignition, then connect battery, then turn off ignition (check Bentley on battery disconnect)

Re: reset airbag light

If the battery is disconnected, will it erase some of the memory in the computer (I am not too familiar with that)? Will that work, because my airbag light is on, it came on when I was "jamming" on highway and break too hard on the exit ramp?
