i would like to agree but havent tried the zc trans yet. SI is alittle too short geared for my taste, was liking the DX b4 the SI swap but had the opertunity to put in the SI and took it. Stupid thing on my part was leaving the DX trans there and now its gone.

I was lookin a while back at this so im not sure i remeber it all. The ex and si are the ones that you want for a acceleration. The dx, cx, hf are the ones that you want for going like 170 lol. Are you going to leave your car a cable or make it into a hydro clutch?

If the Si is too short for your liking then you'll hate the ZC, considering its shorter than the Si. I personally love the nice short gears though... well cept for when it comes time for a road trip, cruising at 4 thousand revs can get annoying.

That's why you do a final drive swap from the HF... Then you won't have to cruise at 4k.

Cruising at 4k at 80mph isn't too bad. And you never have to downshift if you need to faster.

The one thing I don't really like about the Si tranny is the short 4th gear...

are the all d-series tranny gears interchangable like maybe a dx first and then a zc 2nd and 3rd and si 4th so on and so forth?

Re: which d-series tranny would be best for...

I have a ZC LSD tranny. Much less torque steer compared to a DX or Si tranny. Downside is the higher revs at highway speed. Doesn't seem to hurt fuel economy though.

Re: which d-series tranny would be best for...

The gears might be interchangable. On my accord i did an integra tranny conversion. My accord gearing was long and gas milage based so i put in the integra gears in my accord box. The people that i talked to did the teg 1,2,3 and then the accord 4th and 5th for speed/gas milage. Do i would think that the gears would be the same in the d series tranny (88's would be the same and 89-91 would be the same im guessing) because i took gears from a d16a1 transmission and put them into a a20a3 transmission. So i would think that you should be able to mix and match gears and fd's between the transmissions.
