The best GT-R concept pics that I have seen

The Tokyo motor show will be next month, and the final concept of the next GT-R is reportedly going to be unveiled. The thought that I have been thinking is that they are going to screw it up, especially from the the look of the past concept that I seen. This car should not be based on the 350Z platform, the GT-R has alway's been it's own car and it should stay that way. These pictures below show some really talented people. Nissan should think about calling the California design studio for a last minute concept creation and tell them to pick one of these drawings below, because they are excellant.

The FM platform is not the '350Z' platform. Actually, the original version of the chassis is the V35 Skyline sedan. Everything else is just a variation on that.

The GT-R was always a range topping model of the Skyline family. It's like a BMW M3 compared to the rest of the 3-series line.

Giving the GT-R its own platform would be far too expensive. People are already griping about the car possibly being $60-70k. Use an exclusive platform for a car and you end up with something like the NSX, a good but expensive car that is very overpriced at $90k.

Four of those pictures are just chopped R34s, and three of them appear to be done by the same person. No offense to the artists, but it doesn't take much talent to do that.

those look pretty sweet, they should keep it the traditional skyline body style, i've seen some where it looks more like the infinit g35, which isn't bad, but i'd prefer the r33-34 type styling

Re: The best GT-R concept pics that I have seen

IMO, one of the first four pics(the first one was an actual concept pic shown in Automobile or Car and Driver in like '02) should be the next GT-R. Like the progression from R32-R34, it is only a slight change from previous models and stays true to the Skyline profile. Hell even if all the did was twin turbo a G35 coupe I'd be happy. But this current concept... its horrid.

Re: The best GT-R concept pics that I have seen

the nissan skyline gtr r3-x is probably my favorite one out of all the concepts ive seen. the current GTR proto is ass.
r3-x just needs a nice spoiler, front wheel wells that stick out less, rear wheel wells that stick out MORE (like the shape of the r34/33/32)
have a less rounded hood.
If nissan doesn't do this right, i think they shouldn't do it at all.
if it is done right is should be a 'Nissan Skyline r35' w/ proper extensions such as 'GTR' or 'GTS-t' n such. none of this call it a infiniti gtr.
i hope it is RHD all around the world, and a RB class motor (better bestrait 6)
