The Best Street Race You Ever Had!!!

He Boys and Girls. WWWWWAAAASSSSAAAAAAAAAPPP!!!

I just want all of us to share the best street racing story we've ever had. I wanna know...did you suptrise the guy...did he suprise you.....did you blow his ass away, have you won money, and all of that other fun stuff.

This is my story.

a few years ago when i had my Scooby 2.5rs I was crusing down a local street, and it was drizzeling outside. So i stopped at a traffice light and this guy in a brand spanking new TRANS AM or Firebird pulls beside me and started to rev up huis engine. I was like WTF is this guy on crack...does,nt he know that this car is AWD, and that i will SMOKE HIS ASS WITH THIS DRIZZLE ON THE GROUND.

So anyways the lightr turned green and he took off (not too far though) he was spinning and i was still behind laughing finally i said ok thats enough and i launched my car at full rpm, so that i could show this guy never to mess with a SCOOBY AGIAN!!! Man was he ever a SCOOBY SBACK FOR ME. I blew past him like he was standing still and ready to reverse. He dropped his window at the next set of light and said " holy shit man what the hell do you have in that thing....you took off like a bat outta hell" I said "SUBARU...THE BEAUTY OF ALL WHELL DRIVE" and turned away.

So now let me hear your Stories, but please dont talk too much shit or ill need a wheelbarell wheneveri come to read the posts.

THANKS YA"LL

Well it would have to be a race that was lost. Me and a friend were out on Friday night a while back in the Cuda. While sitting at a light a car pulls up next to us and the engine just totally drones the Cuda's engine out. It was a Dodge Challenger. It had a shaker hood and that thing was freaking shaking. He then looks over and revs his engine at us, as he does the car rocked. I knew we were going to have our asses handed to us but I wanted to know how bad. Light turns green and I got a good launch and so did he, too bad it didn't matter because he left me like I didn't even push the gas. Of course I wasn't expecting to get beat that badly. Later we catch up with the guy and he has a twin superchaged 528 Hemi under the hood, and to top it off the body isn't the stock body. It had one made for him so that the car was ultra light. That car was just insane. I doubt it was street legal, but I don't care, it kicked ass.

Well it's not a drag race, but it was great. I was cutting through this business park around 3 am because it leads to the highway. I see these headlights ahed of me, it's an S 2000. I said to myself, out loud, hell yeah. Stepped on it, and passed him. Then I slowed down a bit, and a few seconds later he flies past me. So, we're hauling ass around all these curves and corners, trading postion. It was great! Then we got to 9A, thats the highway, and it was an all out drag to the next exit. We both hit close to 130. We got off and he stopped to turn in his neighborhood, and when I looked it was an oldr guy between 50 and 60. I laughed it was great. We really didn't have a winner but just the racing is sure to get anyones adrealine pumping.

RE

THATS COOL DUDE.

SOMETHING SIMILAR HAPPEND TO ME TOO.

Once I lined it up with an old pick up truck. Sounded like it had a cam, but i thought it was just old!!

YA RIGHT when the light turned green, and he let it go, all i could see was his 2 front tires almost ready to come off the ground.

I felt like a piece of shit, but oh well.

What can i do?

SPEC V what did he have?

my favourite race was racin this Supra TT

it was SWEET turbos all the way

we did a rolling from 35 all the way up to 80 where the volvo died cuz the gearing is gay cuz its a 4 speed bla bla more excuses but it was soo much fun and i got a thumbs up cuz i hung with him all the way

altho i dunno it coulda been a modded 6 but i couldn't tell it was too dark it acted too much like a turbo to be a 6 like the lag

i also recently raced a civic Si that thing was quick freaking gay ass gearing and he had to rolling start me so he could use his freaking VTEC controller all in all i learned a valuable lesson .... Si's are fast well reasonably i need to get some mods or another car or something i don't want that to happen again

yea new car mods for T5's are too expensive ......... o well

all in the name of fun ! i saw a nice Cobra and 911 Turbo

HOLY BALLS! That engine is insane as it is! That would probably need high octane fuel cause the compression ratio was borderline on premium as it was. But damn.....i wonder how much getting the body custom molded would cost. jeez...

speaking of that hemi is it off backorder yet? last i checked it was going for an upwards of 20g's because it was on backorder for a year or something like that

Yeah, it is tough to find the 528, 511, and the 426 though I think the 426 is off backorder.

hmmm

well, the best street race i have ever had...
there have been two.
1) 2 years ago i was cruising down highway 2 in my dad's roadrunner, a 1970 tor red 'runner with a 440-6pack, 4.10 gears and a 727 automatic. it had a white interior.
the highway is 3 lanes wide, and there are plenty of stoplights and stuff.
anyways, i was talking on the cell phone with a friend of mine, and my girlfriend was in the passenger's seat. i pull up to a set of lights, just minding my own business, when beside rolls in this 'newer' 4.6L mustang GT Cobra SVT with a pretty good sounding exhaust. he, too had his girlfriend in his car and he gave me a rev as soon as he pulled to a stop.
now, my heart was racing, and i was watching the other light. and than, i hear another noise...and some guy in a mid 80's mustang, white with a cowl hood and tinted windows pulls up on my left hand side! my girlfriend was squirming with joy, and i was sweating bullets. who knows what those mustangs had underneath the hood!
anyways, the other light goes yellow, and i rev the runner up to 2500 and just wait. i hear both the mustangs revvin the shit out of their cars, and than the white one took off! before the light was green!
ass hole!
anyways, me and the newer mustang left at the same time. he took me out of the hole, but i feathered the gas enough to gain traction and when i hit second, he was gone! about a car length back and losing ground fast.
now, my girlfriend was on the phone, and she was doing the play by play with my buddy, except she was screaming, really loud.
anyways, i now had to catch up with the white 'stang. i was at his bumper about the time that the red stang was at my rear bumper, and when i hit third gear me and the other stang were neck in neck. now, i stopped pulling on him, and we were side by side, and i was staring at his front fender. uh-oh, he had to shift! as he shifted i gained about 5 feet on him, and i kept it floored until the shiftlight came on at 6200 rpm.
my heart was racing so fast i could barely see straight..a few seconds later both of them did the mustang fly-by, and newer stang's girlfriend gave me the thumbs up!
2) last fall i was cruising around in the satellite, same highway, different direction. i was approaching a set of lights and i noticed that the yellow lights had come on, and than it went red. as i pulled up, a 71 plymouth duster, red in color, with huge tires and a tunnel ram sticking out of the hood came out of a side street (probably from a gas station or something).
we both arrived at the line at the same time. we exchanged looks, asked each other what we had underneath the hood (both 440 cars...but he had about 600 lbs less weight than i did) and than it was set.
the sound of his duster all but drowned out the sound of my satellite, mainly because he was sitting at about 5000 rpm on the line and i wasn't ready to rev my car that high (yet).
when the light turned green, we were both against the trans brake, but he had 17 inch wide slicks and i had 12 inch wide drag radials.
he got the jump but the satellite quickly grabbed traction, and when we got to about 80 mph i was neck in neck with him. i pulled steadily past him up until about 130 mph, (about 11 seconds since the race started)when his low gearing had decided his car could go no faster and i still had another couple mph to go. although we were side by side when he let off, he gave me the win because if i hadn't had traction problems i probably would have beat him.

he tells me now that that race is still the only race he has ever lost in that car, and i can vouch for that, because i have only ever lost once in my satellite, and it was to a superbike, of all things

re

Dude that sounds like you had some fun!!
No matter what, i will always have a place in my heart for good old american muscle cars, but ill never buy one!

As far as racing goes..this week has been slow due to the amount of rain we have been getting here. I would love to race my REX in the rain, but all the other cars don't dare, because they know that they would get smoked.

Well this weekend is the long weekend here, so i know for a fact that there will be a lot of people on the road wanting to race.(I CANT WAIT).

So if i make any progress i will let you guys know.

This question might be for the Subaru forum, but no one has posted there in a while, so i will ask here. Has anyone heard good things about the HKS tubular manifold for the 2002 WRX. A local guy has one on his car, and he said that it made a world of a difference, but i wanted to hear a second opignion, because it's not cheap to buy.

Keep the racing stories happening!!

One other thing

GO LEAFS GO!!!!
GO LEAFS GO!!!!
GO LEAFS GO!!!!

PEACE

this was afew weeks ago, my cousin and my friend both have 89 preludes one with an airfilter and one with an exhust, lowered, and chromes, they have been wanting to race for months, so we finally went for a drive, 2 ludes, my camry and a cordia. we went to this golf coarse wich had a strip there i think it was a parking lot, this was at like 11pm and its dead. we met up with a couple of other people there in a gti and a 626(yea we all got shit 1st cars)
the preludes raced twice the 2nd race was perfect, both changing gears at the same time, it was neck and neck for about 250-300 metres (i dont think it was a full quarter mile)

anyway me, a 626, cordia and gti all lined up, the cordia drove away before the race started cause it was easily the slowest car there. anyway, i beat a 626 and Swift GTi, the gti had a screwed up gearbox thats why i beat it.

Spec-V If it's HKS it is probably good. If your not sure, do some research, but most likely it is quality. Good Luck

I had just bought my 2002 camaro SS a few months ago, and I didn't really want to race it unless someone was worthy of racing me since I know just by the looks of my car and reputation, nobody around my area wanted to race me. But one day, there was a honda accord with the fast and the furious decals and with all sort of body kits such as the ground effects and the aluminum spoiler etc, and I also noticed that he had the NOS pressure gauge on top of his dash near his stearing wheel, so the accord looked pretty sooped up for street racing etc. So this guy stops right next to me on a stop light, and he looks at me and starts to sound his mufflers coffee can. He keeps sounding his pipes, and he obviuosly wants to race me, so I tell him, "oh you wanna race me?!" and I start to laugh because I have beaten hondas before on V6 camaros, So I knew that my V8 SS would just smoke him. So the light turns green and he peels off, so I take off too, but I don't step on the gas all the way. I was driving pretty much at the same pace as him, and I'm here making fun of him and suddenly I switch to 4rth and floor it and I was so fast, I scared myself!! I literaly felt 1G of force pulling me in my seat, but I felt so good leaving that honda so far behind so fast. Then when we stopped at the next stop light, he smiled and gave me the thumbs up. I felt really good. I can't wait until I add NOS. Then I can beat other SS's. I knew I could beat it, but he was the one that wanted to race.
