Re: exhaust

QUIET???? Yeah..right!!! And one of the first things most of us truckphiles (if there is such a word) do is to go out and have a cat-back dual system installed at the very least along with all that other performance stuff. One per son was even asking how to make his louder. Now I will admit when I had my Slow maters installed, I opted for the quieter of the two, but I really like the sound of a good engine raring to pounch on something like a honda or mustang!!!

I called a couple of shops in town this morning pricing exhaust systems for my '02 and found one that would do a true dual flowmaster for $425 and another shop said $525 both prices are parts and labor without tips. Now my only question is I've been looking online for kits and for true duals they're running over both of these prices just for parts.....what's the deal? Think it's shady or what?? Also the one that quoted the cheaper of the 2 prices told me that a 3" exhaust is too big for my truck and wouldn't give enough back pressure to the engine. He said it would be good off the light but I would loose power going uphill or offroading. What's up with that?????

Re: exhaust

I think thats crap. Mines a single 3" inlet, dual 2.5" outlet Flowmaster 40 series with no cats. It cost me $250 total to get it installed. Tips and all.

Oh yeah, When I cut my cats, I know I lost backpressure, but it helped alot. Seemed to anyhows. Maybe its just me ?
