engine stalls and lopes
Q1... 97 GC 5.2 liter. I am having issues where at times the motor will die for no apparent reason. It will also begin "loping" at times where the idle goes up and down between 1100 and 300 rpm(ish). Have also noticed that the idle will act funny when the A/C is on. Does anyone see a common thread here that would cause all of these idle problems?
Q2... Next problem (and may be related), when making a hard left turn under power, the Jeep will act like it's fuel starved and lose all power until I straighten it out or get off the gas. Yes, the tank is full! Any ideas? Thanks for any responses. |

Re: engine stalls and lopes
If you search this forum for "stalling" you'll see several threads talking about replacing the Crankshaft Position Sensor (CPS). As far as the hard left turns, I'm not sure... Anyone else have ideas?

Re: engine stalls and lopes
Could be the O2 sensor as well. Also I had a broken motor mount, which caused the engine to sit sideways, which starved the engine of oil is my best guess to why it would start then die purring hard. Took me forever to diagnos. Loose grounds is common for unusual faults.
