Swap Questions. need a pro --

ok i've been looking at getting a used acr for some time and have a 7k spending limit. not to say i could afford any of these things right now, but for future reference:

is there any i6 or v6 engine that can swapped into a 95+ 240sx? i know the 300zx motor would have clearance issues but with as little modification as possible is there a 6 out there swap ready? rb20det? rb26dett???

and is there an AWD tranny, 5or6 speed that has been or can be put into a 240sx? how about the rb26 5 speed. will that work on a 240???

anything is helpful. i know a thing or two about cars, but i'm new to the nissans and before i research i thought id just ask to save time. hope you guys can help.

Re: Swap Questions. need a pro --

the rb series engines are all i-6 turbo.. and making a 240sx awd would cost twice as much, if not more, than any engine. not worth the trouble or money. and depending on what you're using the car for, most of the time you'll only need a 5spd. the rb25det would be a good choice (although you could go rb26) since you'd get away with spending less than 7k on it but then you gotta consider maintenance. there isn't much of a market for the rb but its still a great engine. check out www.rbmotoring.com .. there are other sites but i don't know them

Use the RB25 tranny with the RB26.

Re: Swap Questions. need a pro --

ok heres what i've looked into. i could go to mckinney and buy there rb25det engine and install kit for 3500+sh. sounds good but it warns that its not street legal??? i'm in PA does this apply to me???

if i had a 95 240sx with its stock 5 speed. would it be smart to get a front clip for availibility purposes. would the rb25det motor match up to the transmission? is the 95s transmission an rb25 or something different? and if i swap out the engine and tranny would it match the rear diff? is there a special u joint er something???

im sry i'm asking so many questions but i need to know, i get so worked up on doing something and then someone tells me how much works involved and that its not worth it. i frankly wanted a skyline, not gonna happen for the money i have. i've loved the 240sx since i bught my fist car and kick myself. now i can get the 240 and the skyline in one car. that sounds to me like perfection but i wanna buy the clip with everything and spend a week or 2 tops on a build... is this do-able???

Figure around 6000$ for any RB Swap that doesnt suck.

You Need
Motorset - 3500$
Mckinny Kit - 1100$
Downpipe - 200$
Rewired Hanres - 2-300$
Unforseen - 500$

Its not street legal becuase it wont pass a Visual Emmisions test.

You have to get the Mckinny driveshaft... I wouldnt get a clip... you'll just be tempted to ghetto rig stuff... like the crossmember.

If you were to get all the parts you need collected in your garage before hand you could do it in a day or two...
