Question 1994 cavalier tranny problem?

my 1994 cavalier wont go into neutral or reverse is it for sure the tranny and if it is is there a way to get it to go into neutral?

Manual or automatic? If manual, what happens when you try to shift? Do you get resistance or does the shifter move freely? If you have resistance, I'd guess something internal to the tranny. If it moves freely, I'd look at the cables. How does it shift into other gears?

no its automatic moves forward in neutral just wont go backwards neutral or reverse
