Mitsuoka Orochi

After viewing Fujimi's latest resin kit, the DeTomaso Pantera GTS (and the upcoming Maserati MC12), I gave some thought to an earlier resin kit of theirs I debated forking over the cash for - the Mitsuoka Orochi. They dried up before I finished debating, but I just now located and ordered the only one I could find left on the planet, so I'm looking forward to receiving it.

If anyone has this rare kit and can offer some insight as to what to expect in the box I'd appreciate it.

Re: Mitsuoka Orochi

Wow, you got an Orochi?!
All I know is that it never became a full production car and was most likely black.

Re: Mitsuoka Orochi

The kit is reported to be designed by Model Factory Hiro, so you should expect the MFH quality. The real car hasn't been put into production simply because it's still in the development phase. Just this month Mr. Mitsuoka announced that the production model is due out sometime next year. I think it's got love-it-or-hate-it type design, but it certainly has a character. It'd be a surreal experience if this car suddenly appears in your rear view mirror, wouldn't it?

Re: Mitsuoka Orochi

Thanks for the replys. Knowing it has Model Factory Hiro origins is reassuring. I've seen pictures of one in black and one in purple pearl; I think I'd opt for the purple.

The grille looks like it's from an Austin-Healey 3000.
