Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo Crusie Control Problem

Hi,

I have a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with 1150 miles on it. I recently noticed that the crusie control does not operate correctly. I'll be crusing at 70 MPH and all is good. However, when I stop or slow down too pay a toll I accellerate to 30MPH and hit resume on the Crusie Control. As the jeep accellerates I noticed that the RPM's is around 5500-6000 RPM and the jeep cannot get back to 70 MPH unless I hit cancel and manually accellerate to 70 MPH then hit resume. Has anyone had this problem and if so what was done to fix it. I have been to 2 dealers and they insist there is no problem.

Sorry I cant help, but are you saying they duplicated the problem then looked you in the eyes and said "no problem"?
Did they also tell you the moon is made out of green cheese?
DC has sunk to an all time low even with first production year vehicles.
My advice--sell it and buy a 2004, then wait until they get the bugs out of the new model...there are plenty.

That's what they said!!!!!! Is there anyone to call at Jeep that knows what they are doing? I have called the 800-992-1997 number but it is as useless as garbage. Other then my cruise control problem the car runs great...

800-992-1997 is the same number I have.
Its their Customer assistance center number.

If two Chrysler Jeep dealerships said that to me, I would start a formal complaint, but you have to use the number above...just talk to the right people, its what that # is for.

You might try faxing them if you are not satisfied with the service you get via telephone.

OPTION 2
If it falls under your warranty, you can take it to an independent mechanic, pay it out of your own pocket and have them fix it with genuine Chrysler parts, keep the old parts, if any.
You will then need to call that 800 # and explain the situation to them and they will give you a case #
They will then ask you to send them various documents, repair invoice, proof of payment etc.

Just tell them you didn't think it was safe to drive, so not being near a dealership, you took it to the nearest independent repair shop.
Believe it or not, you do not necessarily have to have warranty work done by a Chrysler/Jeep dealer and they will reimburse you for parts and labor, its just more time consuming.
