hi beam dash indicator light

now on to the next 83 camero problem. the hi beam dash indicator light is burned out (not working) how do you get the instrimention out of the dash. I have removed all i could, no go. the unit pulls out about 2-3 inches after Lossing the speedo cable at the cruse control under the hood and pulling the cable. when out 2-3 inches it hits the streering wheel collar. do I have to drop the steering wheel? it is a tilt wheel. cant get at connection on back of speedo either from above after removing the dash cover or from below after removing the fuse block.. the bulb is in the speed o head. to change any bulb in the pacage you hve to get it out to remove the bulbs. I cant find any thing in the chevy shop manual or the haynes book. anybody ever change bulbs 83 v-6 berlinetta automatic thanks berniescout
