'06 E350 transmission with mind of its own

Just purchased a new E350 wagon. The 7 speed trany has been a problem from the start. It sticks between gears (as in car won't move) and downshifts out of nowhere (as in locks the rear tires). The dealer had it for two weeks and replaced the valve body and other related parts, but we are still having problems. Am I the only one? Has anyone else having these problems? Help Me!

Don't sweat it. Let the dealer have their fun and after the third trip, look into your rights under the "Lemon Law"

Re: '06 E350 transmission with mind of its own

That sounds more like a ASR or ESP problem more than a transmission. Did they replace the valve body or the electronic plate above it? In any event it should have been fixed the first time and if they had diagnosed it right the problem should have been pretty easy to pinpoint. I can almost gaurantee it's a computer problem and not mechanical, unless someone maybe put different sized tires on it? It's a shot in the dark without looking at any actual values but my guess is that a speed sensor is open.
