red light violations

so im pretty pissed about this.. i konw i know i have a lil road rage... who doesn't. well anyways i was going home and about to turn right into the far left lane because i needed to make a left turn at the light. As i begin to turn right.. there was a car who was speeding pretty fast and sped up to honk his horn at me. i stop at my turn light while his light was green. i decide to go follow this guy to talk to him and see what his problem was. I signal to get back into the straight lane and there was a cop right on the other side of me. SHe busts a U-turn and gets me for unsafe lane change and running a red, but the thing is i wasnt running a red and the cop had no way of seeing me run the red. it was green to yellow and as i exited, the light was red. i was contemplating about fighting this red light ticket, but it seems like all the cop needs to do is say i ran it, and i have no case.. wat should i do!!??! thanks!

Re: red light violations

Well if it was red when you exited, technically they can call it running a red. I don't want to argue legistics with you. Pretty much, you are correct, it does come down to her word against yours. However, I would definantly plead not guilty and try to get it reduced. They will try and bargain with you prior to court (possibly even right before court) and they will 99% of hte time offer you a lesser sentence, which is usually worth taking. So at least go to court for that.

Re: red light violations

Take pictures from the cop's point of view, to show that she couldn't have seen your light.
