Question 1999 Chevy Tahoe fuel/starting problems

I own a 1999 Chevy Tahoe 4x4 LT with a 5.7 liter engine. I replaced the fuel relay two months ago and this solved my starting problems. Then a month later it wouldn't start again and I replaced the fuel pump with an AC Delco fuel pump and also replaced the fuel filter. It started and ran well for a month until the this last weekend. (September 24,2005). The vehicle wouldn't start for 24 hours. The day before it happened also but was only a few hours between starting. Each time it was re-started, you could shut it off and restart it multiple times without a problem. The vehicle has 104,000 miles on it and runs great besides this issue. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions on why this may be occuring?
thanks!

I'M THINKING MAYBE A PINCHED OR GROUNDED OUT WIRE FOR THE FUEL PUMP. (I'VE SEEN THAT HAPPEN A COUPLE OF TIMES)MAYBE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR. OR SOMETIMES THE BOTTOM OF THE RELAY
BOX COULD NO BE MESSED UP.

A couple things could be going on here and it sounds like a loose connection.
Check the wire that runs from the battery to the left underhood fuse box, if it is loose or corroded, this could cause the concern.
The main thing is you need to determine what is missing when the truck wont start (fuel or spark)
Also check the wires going to the coil, I have seen them break inside the insulation and cause an intermittant no start.

Re: Re: 1999 Chevy Tahoe fuel/starting problems

I had to replace my battery cable that goes from the battery to the fuse box a month ago on my '99 Tahoe. It was heavily on the corroded side- Even a foot up the cable. $50 at the dealer..

You might want to check the fuel pump connector. I have a 97 tahoe and i replaced the fuel pump twice in two months just to find out the fuel pumps were good and the connector was bad.

I did the same thing. I replaced two fuel pumps and found out the coil connector to the pump had eroded away and the wiring was bad. Once replaced it ran fine.
