Alonso wins driver's title

http://www.formula1.com/race/news/3634/748.html

Schumacher isn't even in third anymore, and McLaren has taken the lead in the constructor's title race. Its the end of the world as we knew it.

I kinda wish Montoya would've made himself useful last race and taken out Alonso so Raikkonen would still have a chance. Oh well, at least McLaren will win the constructors!!

Re: Alonso wins driver's title

Yes congratulations to Fernando Alonso! As has often been the case, the team that hit the ground running and was successful early in the season has managed to maintain their points lead in the face of a faster car. Renault have finally achieved what they couldn't quite manage in the late seventies and early eighties - well done. I hope McLaren can win the consolation prize of the constructors championship.

Also good from a McLaren fans perspective to see Montoya has been pretty much a match for Raikkonen in the last half dozen races or so. If only he could quit the silly mistakes he'd be even better. About time JPM came good too, with all the rumours of Kimi's impending defection to replace Schumacher at Ferrari, we are gonna need him at his best.

Re: Alonso wins driver's title

Credit given where credit is due-well done Fernando. Although I am more of a Ferrari fan, its hard to deny that Alonso is the the class of field this year. Mclaren has been right up there, but Alonso made it look like driving those things was super easy. If Renault can continue to give him a good car, we could be on the verge of a Schumacher-like domination.
Having said that, I feel very sorry for Fisi. Ever since Australia, he has been hampered with way more trouble than he deserved. I hope next year goes better for him.
On the subject of Ferrari, I wonder if Massa will live up to the expectation that no doubt will be put on him to perform. Personally, I have my doubts. I hope I am proven wrong.
