New here

Hey everyone...new here but am a pretty skilled mechanic...although there is something i would like to know...an intake sensor that fools the ECU to up the performance becuz the sensor makes it think that cold air is being pumped...whats the max horse power/torque increase that you can get out of something like that cuz i know it at leasts ups the specs and does anyone have any idea of symptons and side effects that this sensor has caused...i read that the company that makes it tests its sensor in extreme situations with no reported damage.

but anyways...does it cause damage and what spec increase does it give the car.

are you talking about that scam thing from ebay? (if that is what your talking about) i heard the end resault is more fuel being dumped into your engine causing you to run (rich/lean) whatever you run when to much fuel is being added to your engine.

if your not talking about that thing from ebay then ignore my post as i have no idea what your talking about.

EDIT: a link to one of those ebay scams: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevy...01517781QQrdZ1

if that is what you are talking about then dont get it, its a waste of money.

i know exactly what your talking about, i dont know exactly how much horsepower it adds, that depends on so many things, but i was a jackass once and bought one off ebay, i tried it, it worked, there WAS an increase in power, enough of an increase for a person to feel, however theyre not good for your engine, what they do to your car is not worth the power

no i asked if anyone has had any symptoms or problems that they have experienced...i know what could happen...but just becuz i know what could happen doesnt mean it WILL happen...and if i ask that and someone asnweres like the guy with the fuel pump...then i can ask them directly what kinda time span that part lasted after the mod was added

if that is what you are talking about then dont get it, its a waste of money.

the one that i found and read about sounds the same as that one but they describe it differently...they say that you add it onto your intake but they says it doesnt make your car run lean or rich...it just says that it tricks the ECU that the air is colder ,changing your fuel to air misture..but they say the same way as adding an intake would ...so if that is BS wouldnt it be the same adding an intake on a car ?..thats what i dont understand about this upgrade...they say its an upgrade to an intake..by reporting to the ECU that the air is colder..but they state its the same as adding an intake...and that they tested it over and over again to find problems and found none...also..its from a company from the states..its not some guy saying "ive been selling this product for years on ebay"

i just cant really tell if this is fake or not...its also not 3 dollars either..its 50 bucks

Re: New here

Yeah don't do it. I had on it my grand am and it screwed up my ECU which burned out transmission that in return on top of that screwed up my differential. 3 buck cost my 3200 in the end

im sure someone will correct me if im wrong, ppl already said its the samething, the problem is that its telling the ecm that the air is colder, the thing is that colder air is _________ (cant think of the word here)... so the car will add more fuel to get more power, but since the air isnt really colder at all your just dumping more fuel into the engine making it run rich.

The word you are looking for is "denser" or "heavier".
