First One In Forever

My car has been out of comission for two weeks since the transmission blew. I got my rebuilt 4R70W Friday evening, and finished installing it Saturday afternoon. Did you know, its hard to yank a tranny, just using jack stands? lol, its not fun...

Anyways, Saturday evening, and Sunday morn/noon I babied it, trying to break it in... but all that went out the window this evening...

I was going down I360 moving at a fiarly brisk rate, but nothing too bad, that would harm the transmission. I was about 50yards behind a car, with 4 round tail lights. I said to my friends riding with me "hmmm...looks like a Corvette..YEAH BOY" then the car gods used the powers and made the stop light about 1/4 up turn yellow...

As I get closer, i noticed what IS NOT a Corvette, rather a Mazda MX3, with aftermarket wheels... BAH! We both came to a stop, and it was some teenage girl driving, with her window down.. My friend riding shotgun loudly yells to me "WELL RACE IT MOTHFUCKA" Light goes green and I take of normally, but enough to get infront of the MX3. Then he screams "RACE THAT SHIT YO!!" when all of a sudden I hear RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! and the MX3 fraily attempts to walk away from me.. I was like "WTF, is she serious?" so I nail it from a 40 roll, and quickly catch up..

Were next to eachother when my friend yells out the window "GO GO GO GO GO" and the MX3 once again foes WOT I let her get a few lengths ahead, and nail it, I get up to 85-90 and let off, with a 4-6carlength lead

After briskly walking away from her, she decides to fly up next to me, and takes off again, I let her get further away, and quickly pull on her again. Unfortunately, there are a few other cars on the road, so we kept it around 60-70, and just played some cat and mouse

We start getting closer to town, and we catch one of the red lights. I sail past her, and stop at the line. She kind of sits back a bit. My friend yells out the window, "Come up to the line" she pulls up, and we talk a bit, some chit chat BS, and he asks her, if she wants to go for it... yup..

I deicde to manual shift it, since my new setup is shifting WAY too early (at like... 4900-5100 RPMs WTF?)

The light changes and we both go WOT. The MX3 has me off the line (since it was a 5-speed) and I lost a bit of bottom end, since I gutted my 3rd cat, once i got up to around 4KRPM's, I started to walk away from her like nothing, shift into 2nd at around 5300, and continue walking...rather running. By 70, I had.. what looked like.. a few bus lengths. I slow back down, and she comes up to me, and takes off again.. I follow suit, and decide to pace her at 70.. then take off... she never cought up, so I slowed back down, and got in the turning lane (since my turn was commin up), and my friend yelled "CYA" out the window..


PS, this was with the LX..

Okay, I know its an MX3, but I havent raced ANYTHING in.. 3 months.. so anything is something.
