Frozen Engine Blues
I have a '71 Superbeetle with a frozen engine. Tried Marvel mystery oil to break it loose. As you can guess, I haven't been successful. Now I'm trying to pull the engine but came accross a little problem. How can I disconnnect the torque convertor without being able to hand turn the engine to expose all the bolts? Any thoughts or ideas? Aaron

Re: Frozen Engine Blues
That's a real mess. Torque converter will pull out still atatched to the engine, you might have to remove the exhaust & rear pulley to have enough room to get it out.

Boschman,
Thanks for the reply. So I can simply skip that step and proceed with pulling the engine as described in the manuals. I'll be giving it a try this weekend. Aaron |
