Question;
When I get the SAFC2 controller, and get my bad-girl tuned, would a fuel pressure regulator help get some more power? Something like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FUEL-...02519406QQrdZ1 Just asking because Ill be tuning hopefully mid-late october. Thanks

Re: Fuel Pressure Regulator for Tuning
Fuel pressure is not something that should be used for tuning. It can bandaid various other shortcomings, but not without bollixing other things. For example,
higher fuel pressure makes the injectors bigger, but make the pump smaller. Lower fuel pressure makes the pump bigger, but the injectors smaller. Chaning fuel pressure at all from what the ECU expects will throw off everything it is trying to do (38 psi 1g, 43 psi 2g). I would not recomend tuning with fuel pressure for these reasons.

Re: Fuel Pressure Regulator for Tuning
Tuning fuel pressure is reserved for the domestic guys, and they rarely do it themselves. And once you start messing with it it's hard to get it set back to where you wanted it.

Re: Fuel Pressure Regulator for Tuning
Cool. So is there anything else I should consider getting when I get my SAFC2 controller and before I get it tuned? Thanks

Re: Fuel Pressure Regulator for Tuning
Just a logger of some sort if you didn't mention that already. Many poeple will also do an eprom ecu and a chip of some sort, but at that point you might as well go DSMlink.

Re: Fuel Pressure Regulator for Tuning
DO I need a logger? A shop is going to do the tuning for me. I dont plan on playing with it once they're done. They got alot of equipment. Should I get bigger injectors and fuel rail? These are newbie questions but I want to get his part right for sure!

Re: Fuel Pressure Regulator for Tuning
That's up to you. I personally don't trust any shops to tune my car, and I would not be able to sleep at night if I didn't have control over the tuning after they were done. Shit, if so I could have gone with a reflash in the EVO like everyone else instead of DSMlink
You're call though, do whatever makes the most sense to you in your case.
