anyone interested in a TT conversion kit?

A buddy of mine has a nearly complete kit for anyone on here looking to TT their N/A. He bought a donor car in hopes of TTing his car, but has decided to sell it so he can get his car painted. He doesn't know much about the TT world, so I can confirm the parts that he has. It has everything you need except for some random nuts and bolts, gaskets, fuel management, gauges, and boost controller. If anyone is interested, let me know and I will relay the message to him. He's asking $1100 for all of it.

well, it was just the tt conversion that he was going to sell. The car is just a parts car for us that we had bought to part out because it had a blown short block. I think someone is interested in the tt conversion right now. But yes, my friend with the parts car lives a few streets over from me, we more or less went in together on the car, he bought it and wanted me to help him part it out.

Re: anyone interested in a TT conversion kit?

sounds like the best route for the TT conversion--> buy a parts/donor TT car that has a blown engine, so you can get it for cheap. I think i'll do that whenever i get the cash for it.

i was just curious. go ahead and let that other person who's interested have at it. good luck selling it!

Re: anyone interested in a TT conversion kit?

Hotshot you would know...how much boost could I run on the SL block safely and still see 13's? And is there any fabrication needed to put it in?

sorry i haven't responded sooner, i haven't been on here in a couple of days.

Well, as far as boost goes, on the SL motor, 6 PSI has low as 13.5 in the 1/4 mile, most people can tend to run around 10 PSI without any kind of alky, and then 13 PSI with alky. As far as modification needed, you will need to cut some sheet metal out behind the driver's side headlight where the driver's side intercooler goes through, and you will need to modify the rear intercooler pipe to go around the N/A plenum, unless you get a tt plenum from somewhere. I would also recommend, if you have a manual, to install at least an LSD insert and and upgraded clutch. Other than that, all you'd need to do is buy some nuts, bolts, gaskets, and a couple of oil and coolant lines for the turbos, and electronics that are needed.

Note: If you want to e-mail my friend, his e-mail address is [email protected] and his 3SI board name is Gator91ES
