Angry Sunfire won't start

I'm no car expert or even close to that so I don't really have any idea what my problem is here. I went out to start my 2003 sunfire and it wont start. When I try I hear an incredibly fast clicking sound and all the dash light flicker at the speed of the clicking. Also the horn is incredibly quiet when I lock and unlock the car and the headlights seem pretty dim. However the internal lights seem fine but that may just be my imagination. So I figure its probably the battery and it either just needs a jump or I need a new one. However I figure I'll come here for some insight first. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Re: Sunfire won't start

When you attempt to start the car by turning the key does the starter turn over the engine or do you just hear the clicking? If the starter does not turn then you either need a new battery or to clean your battery terminals. The dim headlights indicate a problem with power from the battery. If you jump the car and it starts then the battery is probably shot. Be careful in changing it due to the lock on the radio. Make sure you have the unlock code available.

Agree with GTP. Your inner car lights dont pull as much current as the outside lights and not near as much as is required to start the engine. Your battery is probably dead, and while you are replacing that, have your alternator checked out to make sure it is supplying the battery. If your battery is not old, there should be no reason for it to not have enough juice unless your alternator is not working.

Agree as well: Get the code to your factory radio before disconnecting. If you don't have it, a GM dealership can get it for you if you provide the VIN of the car and the serial number off the radio which is on the back. It's easy to remove.
