Angry grease points

I heard a knocking noise in the left front of my 01 exp.so today I put it up on some ramps, it has 75000 miles,, well, well! I saw a torn boot on the left tie rod end, and guess what?? no grease to be seen any where!,further inspection found NO grease fitting anywhere on this front end!!!BULL CRAP!, well further inspection found the right lower ball joint bushing boot torn and also NO GREASE!! Now what? do I have to drill holes and install the fitting or what, I just bought this thing a while back,, never thought "no fittings". Can you all help?

Re: grease points

The joints are lubed at the factory! They call these sealed mistakes perma-lubed, but I guess permanent is just till they dry out so most techs get this nifty little needle adapter (availible at most autoparts stores) that attaches to a grease gun. Then its just a matter of pierceing the boots to the balljoints, and outer tie rod ends and injecting grease. Works great!

well if the boots are torn and the joints are dried up and you're hearing knocking noises from the front end then chances are those parts you describe need replacement.since inserting grease into torn boots is futile.im sure you could get replacement aftermarket parts with grease fittings that come with the new parts.in fact just today i installed an aftermarket outer tie rod on a 2001 chevy venture, and it came with a grease fitting.unlike the factory part which was a sealed unit.
