'98 Eclipse RS Tranny problems

I'm having a very strange problem, my car starts off in 2nd gear and won't shift out of 2nd gear when accelerating. If I put the car in 1st or 3rd it doesn't matter, still 2nd gear. Park, reverse and nuetral work. So I take that car to Autozone and I have two error codes:

1) P1767 - Torque converter clutch circuit malfunction

2) P0700 - The PCM has received a signal to turn on the "Malfunction Indicator Lamp" from the transmission control system

This happened about a year ago but the problem went away by itself. Any idea's????

There isn't really anything we can tell you, your transmission is screwed. Take it in to a shop or dealer and have it looked at. They will be able to tell you more.
