SRT-4 v. Z28

This happened today around 7 o'clock this evening. I was driving when I pulled up next to some guy in a white comaro. We look at each other and I just start going so he launches it and takes off so I just floor it. I really wasn't ready so I couldn't launch it. I burn all of 1st gear and some of second he burns out to. 1st gear hes 1-1.5 cars ahead 2nd gear is the same I shift to 3rd gear and I start to catch up to him. Just as I start to reel him in he shuts down. I was about .5 cars behind him. It went from about 5-65mph. I call it a tie. After the race this is what he says to me:

Him: Is that turbo or something
Me: Yes and its stock
Him: Mines turbo too
Me: right, so you wanna run them again
Him: No I have traction problems
Me: so do I. ok we'll run from 30 or 40mph
Him: my cars not running right
Me: all right then see ya around
Him: see ya

What do you guys consider this is it a loss for me or a tie? Also I don't know if he had anything done to it or not.

a turboz28 would be a monster, it would make 500whp minimum

Re: SRT-4 v. Z28

I knew the car wasn't supercharged or turboed because he would have waxed the floor with me.

Re: SRT-4 v. Z28

Otherwords... The driver of the z28 was full of shit...

I'd call it a tie... If you were gradualy catching up to him, and he shuts it down when you're half a car lenght behind him and gaining... That's a tie, IMO.

Re: SRT-4 v. Z28

it sounds like he shut down because he had seen that he was gonna lose. I guess you can say a tie but it would have been a win imo.

Re: SRT-4 v. Z28

With the only mod being the turbo I watched a WS.6 lay down just a touch over 500 RWHP.
It was an STS rear mount running 7 PSI.

You should tell that to 2000LS1Z28's friend who just did a STS kit, I think on 9psi he only put down 450-470whp. And it's got other mods as well if I'm not mistaken.

Somethin' 'rong 'ere!

Re: SRT-4 v. Z28

What a moron.

Why would you have to brag about a turbo you don't have, when you have a healthy V8 sitting under your hood?

Well, maybe not THAT healthy - he was getting walked by a stock SRT-4, though if it was an LT1, then that's understandable.

Gotta agree here.. most likely its either a v-6 or LT-1 with the badge of a Z28 I got a buddy with a v-6 that did that.. hilarious story he called me out too

i had warned him that ive beaten a Z28 before

(nother buddy of mine he Fucked up somehow but all i know is that i beat him)

we went out and I waxed Him horribly i was like WTF?

Frank man whats up? Z28s are much more faster i have bigger trouble with them
and he's laughing

YO man its a v-6 with a badge ha ha ha

I demanded him to pay me $7.00 of gas on the spot for the waste of time

Re: SRT-4 v. Z28

yeah it doesn't make sense to lie about something when you're going to find out from the race that it definetely isn't true.....i've had people lie to me about mods all the time....i don't care if your car is stock like the car maker wanted or built up from the block with all the best stuff.....as long as it's fast you have my respect....

My buddies 99 Z28 w/ 100K+ miles on 9psi of boost is only kicking out 482whp. I guess only really isn't the right word. The 01/02's breathe alot better, so they can see 500whp w/ less boost. Then again you really won't notice 10whp more when you have like 480whp. His car flat out romps most everything, including 03 Cobras.
