poor startup/ grinding sound

latly when i start my car it takes it a little to fire up. does this mean i need a new starter? i just changed the spark plugs and wires did't affect it what do you all think?

also when i am driving and my rpm go aroudn 2000 it sounds liek a grinding sound and at 4000 it kinda sounds like it also what might this be? i am gonna replace the cltch and everythign should this fix it?

It might fix it, because it if happens when you start the car it is the flywheel getting ground by the starter, but it can also occur through the clutch to since you said it happens when you drive. So if you were alreadying going to replace the clutch I would do that and then see how it goes.

When im in second itll be all cool till i start accelerating and it makes that wierd grind noise...I replaced the clutch but 4 months later its still there

Maybe the starter is sticking? Pull it out and check it, run it off a car battery or something it should shoot out qucikly and come back. Mount it in a vice or something if you try this...and do not stick your hand in front of it starters are deadly weapons lol.

Another thought it a possible wheel bearing, grab one of your front wheels and push and pull on it, then shake it back n forth, you if hear a light clicking noise you probaly have a dead wheel bearing. Hope that helps I hate problems like this i've been though most of them
