H series transmission adapter plate
Well at first i wanted a B series motor and then my mind changed because almost everysingle one of my friends with a honda has a b series in it. Then i went to D and wanted only a few to know about it and i wanted to build it to take the B's. Now i want an H. I have heard of the adapter plates before and was just wondering if they were ever produced. Now i know its going to be hard to get it to fit. Yes i allready know that it is a heavier motor. This is how i was thinking that i could do it. Buy h mounts for a 92-95 civic. ( Will those work). Then if the adapter plate is a b or d then get the mounts and axles as needed. And then of course the wiring.

Re: H series transmission adapter plate
yeah some dude on honda-tech sells the H to B plates. seems to be a very good set up too, i heard they ran a 12 with a stock h22 and b16 tranny in a eg that was mildly gutted.
i've also HEARD but i dont know for sure that if you use a b16 tranny with a h22 that you can use b series swap mounts to but it in, but im kinda spectical on that working.

Re: H series transmission adapter plate
bisimoto sells the h22a/D-series transmission adapters, they don't have a price or much info (like which mounts to use) on their site. But either way, you're looking at least $1,000-1,500 for an adapter.

Re: H series transmission adapter plate
ive read that it doesnt work too well on EF chassis, i cant confirm though. it was on H-T i believe, they said the motor tilts too far back on the CRXs or something(not too sure).

Re: H series transmission adapter plate
do a search and you will find a thread like this...i have all the links to all the H-T threads worth looking into in my post...has pics too
also...the motor does tilt, but i think that's with the H22 mount kit...if you get the b-series adapter plate and use a b-series tranny, i don't think that's a problem...couple of them on H-T don't have that problem

Re: H series transmission adapter plate
Allright yea i would rather go with a ys1 tranny anyway better gearing and aftermarket gearing if i wanted to take it that far. Ill do a search and find that post Blu Civic. Does anybody know of any sites that might have some pics of the swap done so i can get an idea on space.

quote from h-t:
"Im asking 550 for the plate. The only company that I know of that was trying to make one was RS machine, they wanted 1800 for theres and it take 3-6 weeks to get." enjo product details: Price (USD): $TBA lets break this down. these prices are give or take +/- $. i'll use avg to good prices h22 long block: $1350 b16 tranny: $500 (if you're beyond lucky) adapter plate: $550 total: $2400 plus you need some mounts with no price...so one has to assume its over $500-600. then you need axles, linkage, ecu, wiring.... now i know you're all about doing something different than everybody else. however, for the money required i feel there are other more efficent ways to go that will get you more HP. i know you want to go faster more than you want to do something different.

Re: H series transmission adapter plate
You wouldn't need the h-series swap mounts, you'd need b-series (at least that's what he said). And from what he said, you need to hack up your block. So personally I'd spend the extra $1,250 and go with another company (actually I'd get the bisimoto d-series one). But I'm also assuming there is a reason why enjo has not come out with the mounts for the straight swap yet (been at least 2-3 years). But if I ever win the lottery, I'd definently put a lot of $ into developing them myself.

Re: H series transmission adapter plate
Why would you need to hack up your block? Either buy the kit or get one made. I know a guy in the town that i live in that drag races an aa car and he is real good with metal and welding aluminum and has access to a lathe to make the spacer. I dont know if im forgetting something but this is the way that i see it. To make the plate you would need a piece of metal as thick as the bellhousing were the bolts go through. Make that to match the H22 block. Then get the bolt pattern for the b16 tranny and drill the holes. Get the thread pattern. Tap the holes and then go to a place here called heat and steal with the bolts and so they know the thread pitch and all that and get the right lengths. Then for the spacer use the same thickness as the plate that you made. Then you would be able to use the b series mounts. That would get your axles in line and in the right place. As for the driver side mount im not that sure about so far. Everyone that i have seen so far has made a custom made driver side mount. But im not that sure on that. Shift linkage wouldnt be a problem. If you are using a B series tranny just get the b series 88-91 shift linkage. I still need to look into the rear crossmember a little bit more. The only one that i really looked at, the guy made is own mounts to make the motor sit back far for turbo space.

all i'm saying is that we know most of the daily driven set-ups running around here. you very well could possibly invest less and get more. there are all kinds of varibles.....

Re: H series transmission adapter plate
Ill check into those again and see were he was saying about hacking up the block. I know LadyNRedSi that i could get a b16 with everything for like 2300 but i could get an h and spend a little bit more and be making more power. I would also have a lot more torque. I would be seeing way better times right off the bat with the h compared to the b. And from what i read the h is only around 7 lbs heavier then a b series swap if you use a b series tranny which is what i would want to do because of the short gearing.
