Hi everybody. I am a real newbie on bimers. I just bought (a month ago) a 320i 1994 BMW (German made). I had been looking around trying to get a more clear set of bulbs, for both low and high beam. Now, the thing is that I had found through ebay several 6000k bulbs type 9006 and they are suppose to work.
Last week, I had to replace one of the hallogen bulbs, which are H1 type (I just put in there a 80/100W regular white bulb). Now, the thing is that I have checked low/high beam and to me, they look exactly the same kind H1 bulb I used to replace the hallogen one. Is it ok? Are 9006 and H1 type the same? Because of the european version, should it be different than american? If you read this until this point, I really appreciate your opinion. Thanks a lot in advanced, MC :cool |

Re: Dumb question.. but let's proceed ... regarding headlight bulbs
If you look at the plugs you will see that they are not the same. They will not interchange.

Since I own the european version, they are the same. Just to be quit sure, I switch them out. It works. So I switch them back. I guess I have to be carefull when I buy some fancy lights keeping this H1 issue in mind. Thanks again, MC

I can only go from experience and since your BMW isn't like any of mine, the easy way to tell is the bright light bulb doesn't have a light sheild on the tip.
