LS Autoride, anyone know what this is?
My truck is an LS model. But on the passenger side, the emblem on the rear door says LS and Autoride underneath it. Anyone have a clue what this means?

Re: LS Autoride, anyone know what this is?
As mentioned above, Autoride is either an automatic load leveling system (1500) or an automatic damping adjustment system (2500). Don't think its available on pickups, just the SUVs.

Re: LS Autoride, anyone know what this is?
Autoride is an electronic controlled shock. It would let it ride hard or soft depending on the switch setting. The computer would then let the valves in the shock open more or less letting the fluid dump faster or slower. I will look in the manual for more but that is the down and dirty....

Re: LS Autoride, anyone know what this is?
I wish I knew why the badge was on there then. When I bought my truck back in May, it originally belonged to an older man, everything on it was stock. Not quite sure why that would have been put on there by and older man. Beats me. I guess it's time to do some research.

This qouted from this website: http://www.truckworld.com/Truck-Test...y2k-chevy.html
Overall ride, handling and turning diameter have been improved. Significant trailer towing enhancements include Premium Smooth Ride Suspension and Autoride "Real Time Damping" Suspension. The former (optional on K1500 Series) features self-leveling rear shocks that use energy from normal suspension ride motion to adjust and maintain level vehicle trim heights and help improve handling. The latter is a fully-automatic system which utilizes information from wheel height, steering and other sensors to continuously vary shock damping while driving. Electronic sensors control a compressor pump that keeps the rear of the vehicle level with the front. Suburban (and Silverado) also offer pre-wired trailer connections, pre-wired brake controller, Tow/Haul mode on the transmission to adjust shift points and dynamic rear proportioning that helps maximize rear brakes while trailering.

Re: LS Autoride, anyone know what this is?
Are you saying they might have added the badges or does your truck really have the wires and hoses to the shocks as the badge implies????
Does anyone know the RPO for the Autoride? |

I don't know I haven't looked at the shocks or anything. What should I look for? I doubt VERY seriously that the old man put that badge on there for the heck of it. But who knows? Does anyone have a Car Fax account?

Re: LS Autoride, anyone know what this is?
Look in your glove box at the RPO codes and see if you have this... ZX3 Adjustable Electronic (Selectable) Suspension.

Re: LS Autoride, anyone know what this is?
It doesn't. But one thing I just noticed was on the badge on the driver side there is a small tiny bit of paint on that badge. So I have come to the conclusion that the truck has been painted. I really want to get a CarFax now. It worries me.

Re: LS Autoride, anyone know what this is?
Go to your dealer and have the service person print out the RPO/Description pages for all the options that were put on your truck.
Are you really prepared for what was done to your truck prior to you??? If you go to a fly by night shop they are not required to report all repairs to CAR FAX. |

I purchased my truck from a LARGE Chevrolet dealership here in North Carolina. It's no little dealer sitting at a stop light corner. Should it have been reported to me?

Re: LS Autoride, anyone know what this is?
Most dealerships will give you the carfax before you buy. But where did they get the truck from? The truck came from somewhere and more than likely has no problems. They can not by law tell you who owned it or where is has been due to privacy laws. I bought a "New" truck with 38 miles on it and found out a month later it was painted. Not just a small spot, the whole second door and part of the bed. They did not feel the need to disclose this until they had a lawsuit and were required to tell me where the work was done. It was done on a fly by night shop so I could not easily find it. Thus they did not have records of the repair and it would never be disclosed even after the lawsuit that I won.
