Question Outside passenger door handle problems

The outside passenger door handle on my VW golf is not working. The inside door handle works fine, but when you try to open the door from the outside it kinda pops, or maybe slips and the door will not open. The only way in the car is to first open it from the inside. Does anyone know what to do? I really don't want to disassemble the car door then find out that I need to order a part that will take a week to ship. Any ideas? Thanks for your time.

Matthew

Hi the fault is with the door handel iner clip and its easy to fix.
open the door and you will see a black blanking plug on the side remove this and you will see a scerw inside, using a t20 or 25 torx driver unscrew till it stops comeing out ( it dose not come uot of the locater ) with this done you can remove the door lock from the outside (use your fingers or a plastic wedge ).
You can then see the inside of the door handel , on the flat side there is the boden cabel this is a push fit.
on the top and bottom of the handel you will see two pegs and the plastic clips that have come off using a long nose plier refit and all will be good.
rember that when refiting the boden cabel not to pull it too tight ai the door will not open.

Hope this helps

Unhappy

I removed the handle but there wasn't any clips on the inside. Can I order them, and also I tried to rig up the door, by placing a spacer between the cable and the little knob (bolden cable). This works fine I tested it several times. But when i locked the door and tried to open it again it wouldn't work. I found out that the spacer was to big and it didn't allow the cable to go back far enough for it to reset. Then when i moved it far enough back to reset when I lock the door. Then I try to open the door, but this time it isn't long enough for the opening mech. to work. I don't understand how this works, and why some clip will do the trick???
