Unhappy got a ticket need advice

I was riding on the interstate last nite with 3 other of my friends...we juss got off one interstate to merge onto another..we had been driving the speed limit for a while....and so after the curve i sped up...just for fun...(im sure when riding in a group yall get little speed burst every now and then)....i was riding with a zx-10 gixxer750 and katana600 and me with a yzf600r.....the zx10 was on ma right side keeping up easy...the guy on the katana said he had to do 105 to catch up(he had not been riding very long though) .......so i look behind me and theres a cop....man did i think about running..but i figured lol he could probably catch me on my 600r.....so i pulled over...he says he caught me doing 85/55 but he said i was goin faster than that but he only clocked me at 85...that is a wreckless driving ticket here in va and i have to go to court and possible jail time..but more than likely i will get suspended license..because of past tickets...but for the longest time i been good juss so i can get ma insurance down and now this.....i dont know whether i should plead innocent or guilty...i want a chance to explain my side and i also want to ask him if he radar was calibrated....any suggestions...I NEED HELP!!!!
also my friend was tellin me that if i get a fine...i should mail the money in a with a few dollars over so that they will send me a check back and then i should rip it up and they cant put it on ma license until all debts have been settled or somethin like that...is that true?? or has anyone heard anything like that b4

that sucks, and strange law. I was caught doing 82 in 55 in a car, and I got a hefty fine and took traffic school to keep points off my license. but nothing like mandatory court presence or possible jail time. I could've also hired a lawyer for half the price and have him drop the ticket. If I were you, I'd get legal advise or consultation from lawyer if it is that severe in your state. btw, that check scheme sounds like BS and I've heard of it before.

btw, it's a very good thing you pulled over, but there's no cop vehicles on USA that could've kept up with you on that bike, lest you were riding a 800 lbs harley that puts out 60HP.

yeah I see bunch of black Camaro FHPs and Sheriffs here, and I'm sure some of them have something grinning under the hood. But really, even with all that, unless he owns the drag strip and quite possibly keep the engine running over 150+ mph for a good period of time, it'll be difficult for him to chase down a good rider on a sportbike.

also it's quite easy to beat helicopter and air patrols (planes), they're still relatively slow as hell running 100+ mph. there was a rumor of a streetbike getting away from a blackhawk.

Ya its actually kinda common to outrun a helicopter. I live in LA so i see a LOT of chases. Most of the time the sport bike can get away. The only reason they cannot is when they are ahead of the chopper and they change freeways. The Heli cuts the corner and they are back to square one. But it you stay in a strait line, your good.

I dont think Helicopters go over 60 MPH if they do 80 MAX. What you gotta do is let the cop pull you over THEN take off. There is no way he can keep up to you that way. I have gotten away in my 600 Katana and all I have is stage 1 jet kit exhaust and 50 T sprocket

WRONG!

The average helicoptor used for police patrol will easily do over 120mph cruising speed...

Oh, and as far as the ticket is concerned:

1. Try talking to the officer who issued the citation. That may help your situation GREATLY!

2. Try begging the judge to reduce the sentence

3. Suck it up, it sounds like you earned that ticket and you have a habit of driving too fast to start with.

Sorry it sounds harsh, but I am just being honest.

Right. That way you can be sure he has already run your tag and has all of your personal information. Then, even if you get extremely lucky and don't meet his buddy that he radioed ahead for down the street, they can just show up at your house and haul your pathetic ass to jail. Good plan. Then again, what can I expect from someone with such a small amount of brain matter that they would actually run from the police.

Re: got a ticket need advice

i agree with most of the people, get legal advice, talk to the cop that issued the ticket, argue your point of vue, try harder not to get caught next time.

In terms of running from the cops, i'd only do it if i had a place to hide out close by so that you can get out of sight from the cops then pull into a garage and hide out for the night. also, it would only be at night because there's a much better chance that he didn't run your plates. that's my biggest concern about running from the cops (which i have never done, also never been pulled over cuz i've only been driving for a year) being charged with evading arrest or whatever they call it, jail time, huge fine, licence suspension
