Maybe your foot has gotten more cautious after gas jumped up to $7.99 a gallon briefly

Re: Anyone else getting better MPG after katrina hit the gulf?
I have noticed improved mpg as well. I saw on the news today that normally gas stations are required to sell a "cleaner burning" fuel in the hot summer months; I'm guessing one with more ethanol. But this year, to ease demand, they have dropped that restriction. Maybe that has something to do with the better performance.
