Help,sudden electric failure

Today, when I was drive at 40 mile in the city in my 1995 caprice, 4.3 L V8, without any warning, everything goes black, no power at all. I managed to pull my car to the shoulder, after several minutates, the headlight came back and I was able to switch on the car after several tries.
My question is, is this caused by malfuntional theft deterrent system or related to that battery TSB. How can I deactivate that lousy theft deterrent system?

One idea could be a loose wire. I had a similar situation where my Caprice died while I was driving. The mechanics said it was a wire to the computer was loose so that if it was wiggled it would break electronical contact, shutting off the car (since the car is computer controlled); however, I can't tell you more than that.

I had a Buick Regal that was doing that, blammo.. dead as a mackeral with no warning. Wound up being the computer. I had checked all the connections first, they were all good. It seemed that the couple of times it happened, a bump in the road was what set it off.

There's a main battery bus (post) near the passenger side firewall that tends to melt, causing problems. The orginals are made from aluminum. Chevy has replacements made from brass or copper that don't melt. Take a look back there and see if you see anything that looks damaged, especially the plastic housing that covers the post.

Same thing happened to my '94 Caprice SS wagon.

It should not be the battery post, since it's late 95 model, the post is the yellow brass one and is in good shape.
I first found out my battery died. After replaced it and car ran for several days without problem, the sudden shut off came back again today. It was so scaring, I was in the high way. Without any light and power asistance to steering and brake, I managed to pull it away.

It sounds like either computer is wrong or the wire connected to it is loosen, like the situation mentioned by Bob and HLandin. I need to sent it for a comprehensive check. Do you think pepboy is ok for this kind of check?

As a former pro mechanic, I only use Pep Boys to do my tires and batteries. I would look for a good reliable independent shop first, not the dealer. They should be able to diagnosis the problem or narrow it down greatly within an hour or two of testing.
