tie rod end problem

alright, so i needed to replace my driver's side outer tie rod end. i loosened up the lock nut, i took out the cotter pin, i took off the castle nut and i separated the joint. but i can't unscrew the tie rod end! no matter how much pb blaster i try squirting on there and no matter how much i try to unscrew it.... all that gets unscrewed is the freakin lock nut!

i'm really stuck right now. it sucks. i have school tomorrow too and my car is the only way there...

Re: tie rod end problem

sorry i didnt answer the phone when you called vlad, i was at work. did you try putting a wrench on the tie rod itself? and then cranking on the tie rod end? also make sure you count how many times you spin the end when you take it off, and put it back on the same amount, you still need to get an alignment or atleast its a good idea.

Re: tie rod end problem

yea, i tried everything i could do. i even tried getting a breaker bar on it for support but even that didn't help. so i decided to take it to a shop knowing that i'll have to get an alignment anyway. i spent a good 80 bucks on everything, and it all took an hour at the shop. heh. this is the first thing that i didn't do by myself on my car. sucks
