Shifting Funny

My 2000 yukon is acting funny the easiest way to describe it is that it shifts sooner than it should and kinda feels like starving for fuel. Did replace filter thats as far as ive got. Thinking about throttle position sensor but was hoping for help before starting the money train at parts store. THANKS DAVE

Re: Shifting Funny

The shifting of the 4l60e is based on throttle position and vehicle speed (Output shaft speed). The tow/haul modes changes the shift points dynamically which is a nice feature.

A scantool can be used to test the TPS; otherwise, you can back probe the Dark Blue (+) wire and black wire on the TPS. Should be .45 to .85 at idle running. It will increase as the gas pedal is depressed with +5 as full open. A scantool will show it as a percentage of open.

The fact that you say is it starving for fuel indicates it could be fuel related. A fuel pressure gauge shoud be used to check the pressure. 55-60 at idle is normail.
