What can happen from a dirty throttle body and what are the steps to cleaning one. Thank you in advance.

Re: Throttle Body.

Dirty throttle body? I think more like a dirty throttle plate. I associate throttle bodies with single port fuel injection. I might be wrong. A dirty throttle plate causes idle roughness mostly. If you want to clean one, you take off the connector that conects the air filter compartment from the trhottle plate and spray it liberally with throttle plate cleaner (sort of like carb cleaner). I would also shock the fuel system with this fuel injector cleaner. The kind I am thinking of has little marks on the side of the bottle for 1 oz to a tank of gas. Use the whole bottle. It (the car) will run real rough initially, but after a second fill up, you will think you are drive a new car again.
