I'm thinking of entering the motorcycle world..

So I'm thinking of maybe buying a motorcycle next spring. Was thinking of getting a Ninja 250R, since I've read that it seems to be the most popular starting bike. Anyways, I have some questions that I haven't really answered in my research.

How much would my premiums on insurance go up if I were to be insured on both a bike and a car? Could I cancel my coverage on the bike for the winter and restart it during the spring?

What about road conditions? How much more considerable danger am I in if the road is rough, or gravel. How big to rocks have to be before I really worry about them? Potholes?

I'm really nervous about getting a bike. I've read all the stories about how everyone lays down a bike at some point or another. Sorry if my questions seem very newbish, I know you guys have probably answered these same type of questions hundreds of times.

i'm not saying that you'll be very safe on a 250 but it's one of the best that a beginner can get. first everyone on this forum will tell u to take an msf course and wear your helmet at all times. and don't worry about them laying your bike down thing, those are usually parking lot mishaps if youre careful. check this out for more info http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/school.htm

ya if a parking lot mishap is a soccer mom in a van pulling out of a parking lot causing you to t-bone her or lay the bike down to avoid flying over the van when you t-bone it
