93 lumina

Can anyone help me please!
I have a 93 Lumina and I had the codes read on it yesterday. The man said that the codes stated that I needed an ect. I bought one but, I dont know where it goes. He said it was on top of the motor and that I would be able to see it, but I can't find it. Help me PLEASEEEEE!

I dont have the code but the past 2x that I have filled up, after a few minutes, the check engine light comes on and it starts acting like I have fouled out a plug. I tooke it to auto zone where they ran the codes and that is what they told me, the etc...electronic cooling sensor,

Yes

Should be on the thermostat housing but the circuit should be checked out first, under the throttle body, you will have to drain some coolant first.
